My wife and I moved cross-country from Portland, Oregon to Washington, DC. We took the long way, heading south through California, then angling east through the southwest. We arrived at our new house in DC on August 29th, in time for me to get on a plane the next day to cover Hurricane Katrina. This is a record of those days.
