In Training, a book of Bonsai photos

California Juniper, in training since 1985

For the past year, I've been making regular trips out to the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum in Washington, DC to photograph the bonsai. It's hard to describe the feeling of being in the presence of these trees, some which are hundreds of years old. These photos are about sharing that feeling, of being around trees that are both fragile and incredibly rugged. Trees that have survived through wars, that have been handed down by generations of bonsai masters and that are one of the purest collaborations I know between man and nature.

Now, after dozens and dozens of trips and thousands of images, I need your help. I've started a Kickstarter campaign to create a beautiful, fine art photography book. I've enlisted one of my favorite designers (polygraphcreative.com ) to bring it to life. Please visit the Kickstarter page and have a look.

I'd love to have your support.
