The library in Rockville, Maryland is modeled after the human genome. When you walk in, you're met with a massive strand of DNA etched into a black marble floor. At the end of each bookcase is more double-helix'd goodness carved into the wood. The head librarian is super nice and accommodating to a photographer who wants to set up three lights, run extension cords across a busy thruway mostly inhabited by small children running around and take up a large chunk of space for almost two hours.

Which is a roundabout way of saying I photographed geneticist Greg Lennon there last month for BusinessWeek and couldn't have felt more fortunate to find a location that actually had some visual relevance to my subject.
